Census Returns And Church Records Information

Over a period of almost 20 years, Mr. William (Bill.) Buchanan, a member of the East Leake & District Local History Society has transcribed Census Returns and Parish Registers for the parishes shown below and from these listings can provide information for a given surname.

Bill, a family historian provides this service free of charge, but would appreciate any small donations being sent to East Leake and District Local History Society. It would be helpful if researchers could supply an email address when making an enquiry. This would enable us to supply information more easily and would avoid printing and postage costs.

Overseas enquirers are requested to pay donations through “Pay Pal” or sterling due to the charge made by banks for cashing foreign cheques. Occasionally, transcriptions are made from material, which is in very poor condition. It is recommended that where possible information received be checked for accuracy on receipt, as we cannot accept responsibility for any errors or omissions in information supplied.

There are no marriages at Hoton Church after 1836. The East Leake Baptist Chapel records are confined to those available.
